Star Wars Special Edition Promotions

1997's Star Wars re-release brought with it a few Star Wars TV appearances.  Besides appearing on a variety of news magazines and talkshows, the following were special broadcasts devoted to the re-release:

Star Wars:  the Magic and the Mystery - Fox special
the MTV Star Wars special
the Access Hollywood Star Wars special
the Sci-Fi Channel Star Wars special
the Sci-Fi Vortex Star Wars special
Oprah Winfrey Show Star Wars special
E! Entertainment Television Behind the Scenes of the Star Wars Special Edition

The last two - the Oprah Winfrey Show Star Wars special and the E! Entertainment Television Behind the Scenes of the Star Wars Special Edition - both featured appearances by Star Wars characters as played by their Star Wars actors...  therefore, it's only logically that I'm going to describe them right here.

The Oprah Winfrey Show Star Wars Special

In an episode from early 1997, Oprah Winfrey welcomed C-3PO, R2-D2, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and an Ewok to her stage, celebrating the Star Wars Special Editions. After that, Anthony Daniels and Peter Mayhew were brought on stage to discuss the making of the movie and its success. Even George Lucas joined in later on, albeit by satellite. The show wasn't focused on all episode, though. After the Star Wars guys left, there were segments on the making of Star Trek: First Contact, and several Superbowl commercials.

E! Behind the Scenes of the Star Wars Special Edition

Being almost the same as all the other Special Edition promotional special, there isn't much to this one.  However, it featured interviews with R2-D2 and C-3PO from the Star Wars Special Edition press video/junket, therefore its inclusion.  E! Behind the Scenes airs each week on Saturday at 2 PM ET.  The Star Wars episode aired February 1st, 1997 - the day after the Star Wars Special Edition opened nationwide.
Todd Newton narrated the special, which had special interviews with George Lucas and Mark Hamill, plus special appearances by R2-D2 and C-3PO.  Since there isn't that much to the special, here are the pictures:
